Maui Hotels
If you need a basic place to sleep and you aren't looking for on-site activities etc., have a look at hotels for some cheap Maui lodging. If you don't plan on spending a lot of time in your room and don't need the amenities of a resort or condo, hotels are a good option. You can find great Maui hotel deals if you can make do with having a room that is not on the beach. For cheap lodging on Maui, look at the hotels that are a bit more inland. If you want something a bit more than basic, try resorts instead.
Maui Resorts
The biggest share of Maui accommodations will be resorts. These are places where everything you need is on-site, and if you wanted to you would never have to set foot outside the resort to have a fabulous vacation.
On-site amenities will include a restaurant with a bar or lounge, a gift shop or other shopping venue, and pool area where you can laze away the day.
As with hotels, the range in price and amenities runs from budget to ultra-luxurious. Most resorts will also be on or near the beach, although some resorts that are on the beach are so large that a room at the back of the resort is not really close to the beach at all.
Maui Condos
My favorite type of Maui lodging is condos.
There are plenty to choose from!
Many of the Maui resorts will have a mix of hotel rooms and condos, so if you find resort you like the looks of it, do a comparison on the types of rooms. A condo may suit you better if:
You are a family.
On a budget and want to cook in.
On some type of restricted diet.
Traveling with children.
When traveling as a family a condo gives you the room to be comfortable. Especially with smaller children, having a condo for vacation can be less of a disruption to their normal schedules. If you vacation with children, you know how huge this issue can be!
In a hotel room, it may be difficult to get children to settle down while Mom and Dad are still watching TV, talking, etc. With the condo they have their own bedroom. A good place for timeouts to!
Going with the condo when working within a budget may not seem cost-effective at first glance.
But take a closer look
If you're traveling with a group you split the cost of the condo and it will likely be cheaper than if each had rented a separate room. You each have your own bedroom, and many times your own bathroom too, so privacy is not much of an issue. Then add in the cost of eating and drinking out, as opposed to fixing your own. Especially if you are sharing the cost with others and taking turns cooking and cleaning up. Look for a condo with barbecues to cut down on that cleanup time and hit the store or deli for already prepared side dishes to cut down on preparation time.

These are all good reasons to choose a condo as your Maui accommodations. You have a kitchen where you are in charge of what hits the dining room table.
No matter what type of Maui lodging you are looking for you should be able to easily find something to suit your needs and your budget. Not only should you be able to find the type of accommodations that you want in the price range that you need, but you'll also be able to find it in the area you want to stay in.
