All About Hawaii

After your Hawaiian vacation you can return to normal life with a smile on your face and a spring in your step, knowing all is right with your world.

The goal is to make that feeling last until your next vacation. And that is why you drag yourself to work every day, isn't it?.

Some Favorite Hawaii Vacation Activites

  • Relaxing and soaking up the sun and letting worries slide away
  • Water sports like diving or surfing
  • See the sights like Diamond Head, Haleakala and a live volcano
  • Action activities such as zipline or parasail
  • Investigate a different culture and it's cuisines

Do you know that each island has its own personality?

It's true.

And to ensure that you have the very best Hawaii vacation, you will want to choose the island that most closely matches your personality.

You don't want to end up on Kauai if you are looking for some hot night life and if you want easy to access white sandy beaches you may want to think twice about the Big Island.

That's Where I Come In!

I do not live in the islands, although I would love to!

I only get to claim it as my favorite place to vacation. I am blessed to have been able to take a Hawaii vacation 16 times (and counting!).

I have been to Maui, Oahu and the Big Island the most. I have visited Kauai and Molokai, and Lanai is on my radar for this year.

I am a tourist when I go to the islands, so the information I give on this site is from a tourist perspective. You won't find information here from a locals perspective, unless a local adds content to my site as a guest.

What you will find is information I have gathered and experienced with my own trips to the islands as a visitor.

This is an ongoing endeavor, I always seem to have a next Hawaii vacation planned!

So please, let me share my love of the islands with you. Follow some links, enjoy the photos I have taken of the islands, dream your own dream of a Hawaiian vacation.

You may want to start with the snippet of information about each island provided here to help you decide which island to explore first.

Big Island Hawaii

Known as the Big Island (catchy huh?) It is the largest of the islands by far because it is still a growing island thanks to the most active volcano on the planet. The rockiness of most of the beaches creates the best diving and snorkeling opportunities in the islands.

Oahu

Known as The Gathering Place, Oahu has the highest population. Honolulu is a thriving city where you will find great dining, shopping and nightlife. Oahu is where you will find the Arizona Memorial, Diamond Head and the largest selection of Hawaii vacation activities.

Maui

Known as The Valley Isle, Maui is known for its beaches. Here you will find downhill biking from Haleakala, the largest banyan tree in Lahaina, Iao Needle, upscale shopping at Wailea, Little Beach and the best whale watching.

Kauai

Known as The Garden Isle. Here you will find the wettest spot on earth, a swamp, the best hiking, Fern Grotto, Poipu Beach, and the lush resort area of Princeville.

Lanai

Known as the Pineapple Isle, though the pineapple plantations are no longer there. Here you will find Four Seasons Resort, deserted beaches, dolphins, and lava tube diving.

Molokai

Known as The Friendly Isle or The Most Hawaiian Island. Here you will find mule rides, Father Damien, and soaring sea cliffs.

Ni'ihau

Known as the Forbidden Island. No tourism here as it is privately owned. Famous for the Niihau shell leis and jewelry made by the residents.

Kaho'olawe

This island was used as a bomb target until 1990. Since then it has been in a clean up stage, there is still live ammunition there. No permanent residents on this island and it can only be used by Hawaiians for cultural events.
