Who Am I?
Hi! First of all, let me say Mahalo for visiting my site. I am having a lot of fun putting it together. My name is Retta Carl and I have been building websites since late 2009. Not so long, but the journey has been great. I have learned a lot of things, made a lot of mistakes and just plain fell flat on my face a few times. I have had this site in the back of my mind since I started, but I held off until I had a better idea of what I was doing, because I am passionate about travel in general and Hawaii in particular and I wanted to do this site right. My First Trip To HawaiiMy first trip to Hawaii was in 1998. I had always dreamed of going and truly did not think I would ever make it. It was one of those things it was fun to dream about.I was a smoker just a few months before my first trip. I decided to quit and set about making a plan for that to happen. I followed a program that said to set goals and rewards for myself and so I did. My 6 month reward was a trip to Hawaii. My husband thought I was nuts, but I showed him the math and if I could quit smoking for 6 months it would indeed pay for a trip to Hawaii. I told him I would pay for my trip by quitting smoking and he got to go just cuz I liked him. 
That was the first of many trips. We fell in love with Hawaii and we have been back at least once a year since. We have introduced friends and family members to the joys of Hawaii vacations and last year we were able to take the (grown) kids and grand kids to Maui for a week of family Hawaii vacation time.We have visited Maui the most but we have been to Oahu quite a few times, the Big Island three times and Kauai only once.(so far) We are headed to Oahu in April and I look forward to bringing back lots of new material for this site. So if there is something or somewhere you want me to check out, drop me a line! I am writing this page in February of 2011 and I am just getting started. I have a ton of interesting information about vacationing in Hawaii that I want to share with you. If there is a particular piece of information you are looking for, I hope you will get in touch with me. I will be happy to write a page about it. If I don't know the information I will find someone who does. I will also be adding, in the not too distant future, the ability for others to share their Hawaii vacation experiences with you.
